I removed the nvidia decoder and installed powerdvd... all working as it should now. The nvidia decoder removed was the 1.02-223 version.

It gets to 100% or above and then just sits there. none of the %'s repeat themselves. Although I wanted to point out it does go beyond 100% sometimes... not sure if that is related to it missing its cue to the next step in the conversion.
