    QuickSync H.264 Encoder Not Installed

    Hello,

I am trying to get Intel QuickSync working.  I get an error "MSDK H.264 (babgvant) encoder is not installed" when running the profile "AVC/AAC MP4 - Quick Sync" on a WTV file.

Is there additional software that I need to install?

     I am running Windows 7 x64 SP1 and DVRMSToolbox version 1.2.2.3 (R3) on a Sandy Bridge i3-2100 cpu and H67 chipset.

hmm... it appears that I forgot to add them to the installer.

    regsvr32 the attached files

Thanks.  Quicksync profile now runs (very fast too!).  Note that Windows 7 required me to run regsvr32 as administrator.

I have registered the MSDK DLLs in the file above, but now I'm receiving another error when attempting to use the QuickSync profile.  Am I missing something else?

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the double post, but after multiple attempts at uninstall/reinstall (each with varying degrees of success), I now get a little further in the process, but it still dies with the same "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."

     Thanks again.

Re: QuickSync H.264 Encoder Not Installed

Ok, now I'm really stuck.  Since this was pretty early on in my HTPC build and I wanted to clean up some other things, I wiped out the partition and re-installed Windows from scratch.  After running through the 80 updates in Windows Update, I installed DVRMSToolbox and still encounter the same "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" error.

I must be missing something simple as it appears to "just work" for others.

Did you regsvr32 the filters attached to babgvants post above?

Is the .wtv file copy protected?

Re: QuickSync H.264 Encoder Not Installed

Yes, I registered the dll's in the attached zip file.  It at least looks like it begins the encoding, but fails at 0%.

The .wtv is an OTA recording of CSI Miami.  Shouldn't be copy protected.  I have tried to execute the profile against other dvr-ms files also without success.

How can I tell if the file is locked with DRM?

    Thanks.

Check in the Processing Condition Editor.  Copy Protected or Copy Protected Percent attribute.  You can also add a check to your profile.

Re: QuickSync H.264 Encoder Not Installed

For those that got quick sync working without the exception error code, what version of the hd drivers are you using?  I have that issue with 1.2.2.5 and none of my WTV files are copy protected, they work fine in videoredo, and sw 264 works fine in dvrmstoolbox.

I have tried on both my main box and htpc box.  The htpc box is using only the onboard, the main pc tried with virtu and also by plugging in the tv to the onboard.  Also, I am not trying resize.

Another question that someone may know, when I recode a WTV, and it is put back in a recorded tv library (second folder specified) in WMC7, the rules of "max 10 episodes" don't seem to apply to these recoded files?
