Advantages in converting AVI/MVKV to WTV over DVR-MS?

I am gettting setup to automate the conversion of MKV and AVI TV Shows to DVR-MS based on DVRMSToolbox but wondering if there are any advantages to WTV format over DVR-MS. The clear drawback I'm seeing is that there are so many tools out there for DVR-MS that don't work on WTV. However, I'm wondering if there are any other advantages of using WTV instead of DVR-MS, perhaps: - Is WTV conversion faster? - Are WTV Files smaller? -etc

main benefit is WTV can contain h.264 so if the source file has h.264 it is a stream copy so it's faster and smaller.

Thanks for the reply and info! I definitely prefer WTV then. I tried modifying the MKV->DVR-MS and AVI->DVR-MS profiles to use WTV by looking at the WTV profile, but being new to DTB, i was struggling since the profiles looked very different. Is there an really easy way to change the profile? (perhaps just an argument? or replacing todvrms.exe with something else?) Or even better, if there is a profile I can download from somewhere :)

there should be a profile for converting mkv->wtv included (Convert MKV TV Show to WTV).

on the other hand..is it save to say, since h.264 stuff is not available to me, converting to DVR-MS would be best?

(I store shows on a media server and a 3-6 gig wtv or dvr-ms just eats too much space. Plus compatiblity with other
    programs is a issue. )

If you have a better suggestion, I would love to get your input...

If space is an issue, you can archive to H.264 in MKV.
