Questions about Vista and wtv files

I am having a really hard time getting wtv files converted to another file type making it usable for archiving. Any help? Thanks.

You can right-click on the file in Windows Explorer and then choose the Convert to dvr-ms option if nothing else works for you

At least in Windows 7 RC1, I used the DVD burning facility built in to MC to archive a favorite movie. It kept the 16:9 aspect ratio and the 5.1 Dolby, along with creating 13 chapters on its own. It did have to reduce the image quality of the WTV file (720P) a little to get it to fit onto a regular 4.7GB DVD. I'll try it with another movie and a DL DVD.

Does that work on Vista? I don't have windows 7 installed.

I don't run MC in Vista, only W7 RC1. However, how about popping in a blank DVD and try it yourself?
