I am brand spanking new to this commercial skipping stuff, and maybe I dove in over my head, but I'm running 7mc build 7100 x64 and I followed Josh Pollards instructions on installing and configuring these tools to get commercial skipping working (http://thedigitalmediazone.com/2009/05/16/true-commercial-skipping-in-windows-7/).  Show Analyzer seems to be analyzing the show just fine, and it's creating the xml files in the recorded tv directory, however the commercials are not being skipping with play back.

What log files can I post? What more information can I provide?  I really want this to work so that I can validate to my wife the five years I have spent getting my HTPC up to this point.

I think this is the log that you're talking about.  I can tell that it doesn't recognize that show analyzer is installed, but of course it is installed. 

In order for this to work with Win 7 you need to have SAV1, which is only accessible by beta testers right now.  If you do have this you are experiencing the same problem as others on this forum.  People aren't able to get DVRMSToolbox to recognize SAV1.

your log file shows that your DVRMSToolbox is setup to use comskip though. Open up the DVRMSToolboxSeetings application. There is a drop down box on the first tab, DVRMSToolbox, labeled "Prefered Analyzer". You need to make sure that is set to "SAV1" SAV1 is short for ShowAnalyzer version 1.

If you have ShowAnalyzer installed, and have DTB setup correctly you should see this in your FWlog file: Find Commercials in file Using trial version of ShowAnalyzerSuite. There are 22 days left in the evaluation. Go to www.dragonglobal.org to purchase the full version. but yours says: Find Commercials in file ShowAnalyzerSuite is not installed try ShowAnalyzer

what version of windows? x86 or x64? I'm running x86 and its working well.

 I'm running x64.  I found that dropdown box and it was set to automatic, so I changed it to SAV1.  It does seem to be working now, thanks for your help!  I can't wait to get started on all this commercial skipping action!

 Hi, I seem to have the same problem, but selecting SAV1 as the preferred decoder has not fixed it. This is an example log:

hamping, are you sure you have SAV1 selected as the Preferred Analyzer and not ShowAnalyzer?

 Yes I do . Could it have anything to do with not having uninstalled Showanalyzer. So I had both the suite and old version installed at thesame time. Have uninstalled the older version and repaired installations of the suite and the MCE Addin, but still no change unfortunately.

yes it could. I know I heard of some people saying that you need to completely uninstall the old version, including deleting all of the old files that it made (like edl and txt files) but I don't have anything concrete about it.

 my skipping isn't working anymore.  that fwlog hasn't changed since it was working and now when I open a recorded tv file it doesn't do any skipping at all.  Now sure what I need to do now.

My skip function also recently stopped. all the xmls are being created. DTB is either not running or just not looking for xml files anymore. However i'm using Vista.
