    FWChannelProxy

I've installed this in place of the other DLL to change channels on my STB.  I like it, it works great.  But is there a way it can send leading zeros to the STB or is this a limitation in channel.dll?  After what feels like endlessly trying to get channelw.exe to send leading zeroes I came to the conclusion that it strips them out, possibly by converting to an integer?  Just curious.

I'll change it to optionally send "enter" after the change.  Probably sometime this weekend.

    Try this one.

There are two settings in the reg file, the key to send (on mine it was 0) and the min to send that key (set to 100 so anything w/ fewer than 3 digits will send the second key).

Let me know how it works

    Re: FWChannelProxy

I triedthe FWChanneProxy and couldn't get it to work. Instead I'm using the EXEMultiTunerPlugin for now but hope to get the FWChanneProxy working instead (yes I know I'm insane).

the cl that works for my setup is channel -f -a0 2 <channel#>

Don't know if I missed something or if it has to do with the difference in the STB.

i can change it to support the "a" arg, my stb doesn't need it so I left it out.

try this rev.  change senda in the reg file to 0 (it's set to the default of 2 to produce consistent results)

Thank you.  I'll try this out when I get home from work.  I spent the weekend at ren fair and got back late last night. Catching up on email now. :-P

I'm sorry I didn't reply before.  I haven't worked on it in a while.  I briefly attempted to use the updated version but couldn't get it to change channels.  Would it be required to restart SageTV to upgrade the DLL or should I be able to do it while running?

If I have time this evening I will again attempt to use the new DLL.  For the time being I'm using the original.

you probably need to restart sage.  if it doesn't work can you enable the log and we can figure it out.

For some reason I can't get the new one to work.  I just don't get any channel changing on the STB.  My one question, what command is "0xffffffff"?  Is it the select command? I have a Scientific Atlanta 3250HD.  I don't know what commands it will accept.  Any ideas?

    0xffffffff is "Off"

http://home.comcast.net/~timmmoore/firewire/readme.htm has a list of some commands on my box 0 worked.

I still can't get it to work.  In that last version does the SendKey registry setting specify the select command or "0" command?  It's also kind of odd because after I've used the new DLL I have to yank the power from the STB because it stops responding to commands.  Only after I've done that will it again start accepting commands from the original FWChannelProxy.  Kind of weird.

    Re: FWChannelProxy

SendKey is the key to send (on my stb 0 = enter, so if a 2 digit chan is entered it makes the chan change happen); -1 turns it off (i.e. no additional cmd is sent).  Figure out what key to send after the channel number using the exe then put that in the reg.
