Commercial Skip with Win7 at ALL possible?

The subject says it all, I was just wondering because after trying Win7 Beta 1 on my Laptop, I would like to try it on my media center. I don't really want to do this without commercial skipping software.

Along the same lines... if if you can't run comskip on .wtv files... is there any chance you could still impliment it to work on .dvrms files?

The reason I ask is that my main PC that does all my recording is running XP MCE and dvermstoolbox.  All the comskip processing is done on that machine.  I'd like to still be able to make use of the ad-skipping that dvrmstoolbox offers on a Windows 7 machine (with the drives correctly mapped etc etc - I'm alreadying doing this with vista, just wondering if there would be a way to do it with Win7??)

i'm planning on rewriting the addin for win7, but even with the new addin you will need to swap the wtv container for one that comskip or SA supports.

Do you mean you will have to re-encode it?

The SDK is different/better in Win7, so much of the complexity (specifically getting the currently playing file path) can be removed.

I take it they haven't fixed the MediaExperience bug that prevents you from determining the position while playing a WTV file in Win7? So no hope of getting commercial skipping without first converting containers unless they fix the bug and apparently it isn't a high priority for MS.

The MediaExperience issue is resolved in Win7

So does the commercial skip plug-in work with WTV files on Win7 (assuming there is a tool to generate the .xml file for a native WTV)?

So would it be possible to use DVRMSToolbox with a profile that uses todvrms.exe then use SA or comskip? I assume this would work after the rewrite for Win7?
