Hope you're still following the forums. Some how I managed to get this working again....but not sure why it makes a difference...give it a try and let me know if it works for you as well.

Step 1: Go to DVRMSToolboxSettings - I have Comskip as perfered analyzer, and I click "Scan for commercials" at the bottom
Step 2: Click the FileWatcher tab - I make sure Output and Watched directories are in the \\Server\ etc.
Step 3: Click the Commercial Skip tab - Commercial Path is also \\Server\ etc.
Step 4: Click the Processing tab - Delay processing is set to FindCommercials and for Dection Profile is set to Find Commercials in DVR-MS, Click SAVE.
Step 5: In Start Menu -> DVRMSToolbox folder, click on DVRMSFilewatcher and make sure it shows up in your system tray.

That's all I did and now it's detecting commercials again on recorded tv shows on my windows home server. However, DVRMSFIleWatcher refuses to run for too long... (less than a day) and Vista will give me an error message saying that it has Stopped Working.

Re: Toolbox running in Windows Home Server...

I have no idea, never tried to make it work properly on WHS.

Should work perfectly on Vista w/o crazy hacks

Re: Toolbox running in Windows Home Server...

babgvant:

you don't need ffdshow for anything btw.

you should be able to pull sbe.dll, quartz.dll, qasf.dll, etc off an xp machine run regsvr32 on them and have it work, but I've never tried it so I don't know if it will or destroy your WHS.

asides from sbe.dll, quartz.dll, qasf.dll, what else do you need to run regsvr32? I assume this is also for vista as well?

I still can't get dtb to work again ever since i changed the recorded tv path to that on my whs. so frustrating!!

Re: Toolbox running in Windows Home Server...

I don't know how to make it work on WHS either, never tried to set it up (my WHS is a VM).
Re: Toolbox running in Windows Home Server...

So if its not FFD show that I need can you point me in the right direct for the files/programs that I doo need? I'm not being lazy I've googled directshow and stream buffer endine - im just not sure what I'm supposed to install....

Re: Toolbox running in Windows Home Server...

you can process files on WHS from a PC, but you may want to do the processing on the PC and use DTB to move it post processing.
Re: Toolbox running in Windows Home Server...

hotshot79:

Hmmmm....I thought FFDshow had the Directshow filters?....

I've downloaded and regsrv32 the .dll's that you mentioned but still no joy. I've installed PowerDVD and still nothing. I keep getting the same codec error....I can't play a DVR-MS files on the server geez.....

Any more suggestions would be greatly apperciated!

I'll post something once I do get it to work with the settings that I've used...

ffdshow is a directshow filter, it doesn't provide the underlying framework.

Re: Toolbox running in Windows Home Server...

Thanks for the advice.

Just to clarify, my VMC is on my desktop computer which records to my WHS. Before I switched the recorded TV folder to WHS, DVRMSToolbox worked fine. I thought my desktop computer would still process the recordings the same way, only the recordings are now on the server instead.

Is this possible?
