It's a long story, but my roommate used a different account to install 1.1.0.6 ( over an existing 1.1.0.6 installation) and then comskip stopped working, exhibiting the same hanging after attempting to shell comskip. I worked for a long time trying to diagnose the problem, and if I had to guess I would say it's something to do with some sort of full buffer. It works fine in a command shell, but comskip hangs when started by FW/DTB.

I uninstalled, then deleted all of the files/entries described in the manual uninstall directions, and reinstalled DTB 1.1.0.6. Still same behavior. Uninstalled 1.1.0.6 and reinstalled 1.1.0.5 and it works fine. Haven't tried reinstalling 1.1.0.6 after 1.1.0.5, but I expect that it would work now. Hopefully the upcoming release will help with this issue.

Thanks!

Re: 1.1.0.6 comskip issue...

Hi

New user for your tool, but it is absolutely great. Thanks for all of your hard work. I installed version 1.1.0.6 and never did get it working. I've reviewed all of the troubleshooting tips and everything checks OK. When I watch a recorded show, the XML file never gets created. In the event viewer application log I get an error; perhaps this will point you to the problem:

The process cannot access the file "C:\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox\FWJobs\roseanne_wbdt_08_11_2007_13_49_04.fwjob" because it is being used by another process.

I have since uninstalled version 1.1.0.6 and installed version .5, and it works as advertised. Thanks again

Re: 1.1.0.6 comskip issue...

Same here: since I upgraded to 1.1.0.6 on XPMCE2005. It will find the .xml file for the first file in the directory of 50, but will not find the second .xml file that is associated with the second show that is to be processed, it gets stuck at the comskip part every time. I have tried to remove the comskip or detection process form the main scripts, but this fails, because it never gets passed the xml file and the scripts fails due to fact that it does not know that this file exists. Any ideas? I have now got xml files, but can not get the DVRMST to strip the com. out of the file. hmmmm by the way if I run this on a file by file basis , and do not try to process an entire directory, the script, the compskip, and the output work fine....... Very strange huh. O'... I try to us the DVRMS watch tool, it only processes the comskip, but never finishes stripping the com.'s out and never writes a final output file to the output directory. I have to go back and again run the DVRMS tool by hand in single file mode.

By the way here is the command line that hangs the comskip program.

Shelling 'C:\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox\Applications\comskip.exe "O:\Recorded TV\Inuyasha_TOON_05_10_2007_02_00_02.dvr-ms" '

Also, if I run this command in a command window it works just fine.

Do you know where I might be able to get version 1.1.0.5 that everyone talks about that seems to work with comskip correctly?

Thanks

Re: 1.1.0.6 comskip issue...

No version of comskip before build 110 can process while recording.

Do you try to process while recording?

Re: 1.1.0.6 comskip issue...

I have just had time to work on my MCE machine, and found that I have this same issue, Has anyone solved this, or do I just have to run all comskip processes before I can run the DVRMS Toolbox after the fact, kinda defeats the purpose!
