    Unable to detect the playing file (Vista 64)

    Hi, does anyone have the commercial skip addin working with vista 64?  Here's my install process.

    Installed using the manual install method.

    Started MCE and got the Comskip failed error.

    Ran the  DVRMSerrorFIX found in a previous post which corrected the comskip error.  (after reboot)

    Start MCE again.  Start playing a recorded program, Error message "Unable to detect the playing file".

     Thanks!

    I installed using the .msi installer and created a symbolic link from "program files" to "program files (x86)" for the dvrmstoolbox folder.  I'm not able to find the DVRMSerrorFIX app you are speaking of.  Anything else for me to try...I'm still getting the compskip failed error when started media center.

    Hi, quoted from another post...

     I'll check the log later and post my findings.  Thanks!

    Hey people, I just got through reading this thread because I was having the same problem:

    http://babgvant.com/forums/thread/3011.aspx

     I had these 2 errors in my event viewer:

    1.

     User: kenny
    Unable to launch. System.Exception: Could not initialize MceState
       at babgVant.MediaCenter.MceState.MceStateConsumer.MceState..ctor()
       at babgVant.MediaCenter.CommercialSkipAddIn.CommercialSkip.Microsoft.MediaCenter.Hosting.IAddInEntryPoint.Launch(AddInHost host)

     2.

    User: kenny
    Unable to uninitialize. System.ObjectDisposedException: Safe handle has been closed
       at Microsoft.Win32.Win32Native.SetEvent(SafeWaitHandle handle)
       at System.Threading.EventWaitHandle.Set()
       at babgVant.MediaCenter.CommercialSkipAddIn.CommercialSkip.Microsoft.MediaCenter.Hosting.IAddInModule.Uninitialize()

    Well, after digging around some old registry backups, I found some keys that were in my old working install that are missing now.  So if you are getting the "Commercial Skip add-in stopped responding" error and those 2 errors in the event viewer, I have a registry file that will solve all your problems!  Just make sure you restart after adding it to your registry.  Have fun!

    Download Here

    Let me know if it works...

    I've had the same error show up in some of my video files.... "Unable to detect the playing file"...it then tells me restart media center.  It doesn't prevent my playback though.  I am using Vista 32.  Any thoughts??
