    Re-convert WTV back to MKV

With Media Center on the death march from Microsoft, I am looking for a way to get all of my WTV DVD rips converted to a more open format. I have been using AutoRipNCompress for the past two years to Rip my DVD collection utilizing MakeMKV and convert to WTV (Uncompressed) profile. I am not an expert at media format conversions, but I believe that both MKV and WTV are just containers? So that makes me think it would be possible to simple flip those WTV files back to MKV format. Can anyone make a recommendation for the best way to get my DVD rips in uncompressed WTV back into MKV format? Here is an example log from one of the rips I would be looking to get back into MKV format: Any help would be appreciated! Thanks. 2011-03-19 11:49:01 AM: Starting Rip of Cars with the following settings: RipProgram: MakeMKV TemporaryLocation: E:\Temp FinalLocation: \\HOMESERVER\DVDs\Movies OutputFormat: Uncompressed wtv ConvertDTStoAC3: true DVDFabLocation: C:\Program Files\DVDFab 8\DVDFab.exe HandbrakeLocation: ERROR ShowFinished: yes EjectDisc: 1 KeepOriginal: false CustomTODVRMS: -w 180 2011-03-19 11:49:01 AM: Starting Rip of Cars using MakeMKV 2011-03-19 11:49:01 AM: Running Command: "C:\Program Files\MakeMKV\makemkvcon.exe" mkv disc:0 all "E:\Temp\Cars" --progress="C:\ProgramData\AutoRipNCompress\MakeMKVstatus.txt" --robot --messages="C:\ProgramData\AutoRipNCompress\MakeMKVlog.txt" --minlength=6060 2011-03-19 12:03:17 PM: Move successful 2011-03-19 12:03:18 PM: Converting to WTV 2011-03-19 12:03:18 PM: Possible Audio Track: 1 2011-03-19 12:03:48 PM: Running Command: "todvrms\todvrms.exe" "E:\Temp\Cars\Cars.mkv" "E:\Temp\Cars.wtv" -m -t "Cars" -as 1 -v -wtv -w 180 -xml "C:\ProgramData\AutoRipNCompress\TempMetaData\Cars-sagexml.xml" 2011-03-19 12:10:16 PM: Finished Converting to WTV 2011-03-19 12:19:19 PM: Finished!

Yes, technically it should be a simple container swap. But I don't know of any tool that will do that container swap. You may need to re-encode it.
