todvrms able to handle HDTV WTV files?

     Hey there,

Don't know if it's the right place to post topics around todvrms, but I didn't found another apropriate one.

    The story :

I'm using WMC to record HDTV shows, and it records them in WTV files (I'm using a HTPC running Win 7 64bits).

Now, I wanted to find a way to play WTV files on Linux (as I'm mainly a Linux user ;))

So I found that it should be easier to handle dvr-ms files than WTV ones, and I'm looking for a way to convert WTV to DVR-MS.

I finally found todvrms utility (v1016).

Now the issue: I tries it basically, through the GUI but without any option, to convert a WTV show to a DVR-MS file.

But it just fails, without any explanation message...

What I want to know: can this operation be handled with this todvrms utility (HDTV WTV file --> DVR-MS)?

Or is there any other suggestion to convert WTV files to a more "opened" video standard?

Thanks by advance for your help !!

    David

Just use the built in wtvconverter.  It's in the c:\windows\ehome folder.

In Win7 you should be able to right click on the .WTV files and you are given the option to convert to dvr-ms.
