Can't Play Resulting WTV Files in MediaCenter

Greetings!  Running into a small issue I can't track down.  After ripping a BD or DVD into an x264/WTV, I can not seem to play it within MediaCenter.  The file plays perfectly in MediaPlayer, but not MediaCenter.  I get a decoder error.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks!

If you have 64-bit version of Windows 7 the decoder's might have gotten messed up.  In 64-bit Windows Media Player uses 32-bit decoders and Windows Media Center uses 64-bit decoders, which could be why you are seeing the difference.

I have the same issue after creating a .wtv per your suggestion. How do you debug/correct this issue?

I'm not sure if it will fix the problem or not, but you can try using this:

You can use this to reset the Media Center decoder to its defaults.

I found that if I leave the "Default Preset" audio option enabled when doing any compression, I get this error.  However, if I change the audio to AC3/DTS passthru, then do the conversion, it works just fine.

I'm hitting this now as well with Colosuss MP4 TS files converted to WTV via todvrms (but still encoded in MP4).    They play fine in WMP.    I haven't messed with the WMC decoder priority and it happens on every machine I test it on 32 & 64 bit.

Hey I'm having a similar issue here sort of.

I originally installed autoripncompress v2.20 and ripped a DVD as uncompressed WTV, so it can also be played on an Xbox360 extender, and that works great.

For some reason, I can't recall why, I removed AutoRipNCompress and left it off for a month or so.  Now I've reinstalled the latest version 2.21 and ripped a couple of DVDs also to uncompressed WTV.  I had to also upgrade MakeMKV to 1.7.5.  Now these latest rips won't play in WMC and you get the error about the decoder or restart the PC, as the others above are getting.  The movies play fine in WMP.

The original DVD I ripped however still plays fine in WMC and WMP so WTF???

    Help!

Sorry... I honestly don't know much about that end of it and can't help you figure out why it isn't working. You might want to post something about todvrms in andy's normal forums as that is what Auto Rip n Compress uses to convert from mkv to wtv. Good luck!
