    Auto-analyze for commercials

    Hi all.

I am trying out DVRMSToolbox (v1.2.2.1) for the first time and I am having trouble with getting my recordings to be analyzed for commercials and an XML being created for them automatically. I've tried looking at the wiki (which parts seem out of date) as well as a few different tutorials on engadget, lifehacker, and hack7mc. The only way I have figured out to auto-analyze is to use ShowAnalyzer to scan the directory (I am currently using the 30 day trial of v1.0.59.783). Since I'm not sure if I want to pay for the full version of ShowAnalyzer yet, is there a way to have DVRMSToolbox start the commercial analysis, be it using ShowAnalyzer or ComSkip?

Thanks for the help! This program is initially a bit intimidating for me, but I feel like once I get used to it, it will be pretty powerful and useful.

    Re: Auto-analyze for commercials

So I clicked DVRMSFileWatcher in the start menu, and my recordings started to be analyzed. So do I need to put a copy of this shortcut in my startup folder in order for the folder to always be monitored? Or should this happen automatically? I find it odd in the 3-4 tutorials I looked at, that none of them mentioned this.

    Thanks!

Filewatcher should automatically run as a service, so no you shouldn't have to put it in your startup folder.

Thanks sccrgoalie1. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it seems to be working now.
