 I have spent 5-6 hours since yesterday trying to get this working and I havent been able to, so any help will be greatly appreciated!

I have vista x64 with 2008 TV pack.

I downloaded VistaDTBAddinSetup1219 and dvrmstoolbox1219ea7 and planning to make it work with comskip in the begining

I installed toolbox and add in (this process invovled some uninstall/re-installs since things were not working .. I used the manual uninstall prescribed here in my last uninstall and used the link from engadget for install (since all other install information I found was for older versions and there were minor differences in the UI)

 OK, so I didnt see any commercial skipping working .. so I looked at the troubleshooting page ..

First two points dont apply to vista, For a newly recorded show the xml directory had a file created in it,  Scrubs_COMEDY_2009_12_20_12_02_36.vih, not sure if the extension is right. when opened in notepad++ it showed xml format and only videoheaderinfo. I didnt see any tags that would apply to commercials .. anyway, for number 4, I see all the dlls in assembly directory. For number 5, I turned on events (the location to turn those on has changed from this document. They are now in Mc AddIn.) I dont see any events

 While searching thru forums, I stumbled on some possible remedies, none worked so far

Also the recordings are wtv format, not sure if comskip will work on those. The ProcessingConditionEditor worked fine in the test mode.

so I need to

1. Start MCE with commercial skip add in successfully

2. Get the recorded shows processed successfully

3. Enter HTPC/DVR heaven ;)

 I suppose I found my answer in this thread.

 DTB does not work with vista tv pack.

so I have to go to win7 I suppose

Oh well! I hope that when I can move to DTB on Win7, the efforts from the weekend will pay off with smooth install!

will this work ..

replace the existing wtv file  with a profile that removes commercials

Then MCE will just play the new file without commercials. While add in will not work for me, DTB should be able to use comskip/SA to detect and remove commercials ..
