I have done this 3 times.  Uninstall/manually uninstall (verify) & reinstall.  It seems that Comskip is creating the XML files but that the files in the c:windows/assembly folder are not there.

Any ideas?

did you install the addin appropriate for your system?

In the mean time I went back to 1.2.1.3 and it works.

I chose not to install show analyzer because comskip has worked great for me.

I managed to get everything working on Win7 X64 RTM with DVRMSToolbox 1.2.1.9, the 64-bit DTBAddin1003 and ShowanalyzerSuite beta dated 10/22/09 - well almost...  The commercial skip and XML file detection works fine from the MCE machine, but not from extenders.  Has anyone found the trick to making commercial skip work from an extender?

Open DVRMStoMPEGSettings from DVRMSToolbox in START Menu

Select Frind Commercials in DVRMS- then Edit Profile

Select Find Commercials in File- then Configure

UNCHECK UseDefaultSettings

Select Comskip from CommercialAnalyzer drop-down

After adding the registry key, I can now use commercial skip - Thanks Andy. 

However, I am finding this version to be very unstable.  If I freshly boot, all is good, however, if I leave the MCE box on for a day and then access a show that has no commercial skip XML file, I am not prompted whether to create one.  If I kill all of the EH* services and restart mediacenter (no reboot), I then get prompted again.  It is like the service just stops working.  I have looked for a log in %PUBLIC% that may be of help, but nothing is jumping out at me.

Suggestions?

 Okay, I re-installed the latest version.  And I installed the add-in for Vista x86. Commericals are skipping, BUT now I cannot toggle skipping on and off.  Previously I have mapped the toggle to the END key. Any ideas?

For my remote the * is mapped to the Print key.  I set both "skip on key" and "skip off key" to "print" so I can use a single key to toggle it.  I am using an Xbox 360 remote.

Having similiar problem.

Running Vista 32 bit with TV pack (VMC 6.1.1000.18307).  Installed DVRMST Version 1.2.2.0. first time installation

XML files created but WMC addin not working. No files in assembly folder. Reinstalled DTB several times as per blog fix. No result. 

Found references to additional addin, tried to install  VistaDTBAddinX86.msi and get "Vista x86 addin was not designed for this version of Windows Media Center" Naturally attempts to install the 64 bit version also fails with"This installation package is not supported by this processer type"

How to install the "appropriate addin"?

The DTB addin does not work with the TV pack either downgrade to vista prior to the TVPack or upgrade to Win 7.
