Your logs look OK to me. The program waits 480 seconds (8 minutes) after the show file size stops changing. This means 8 minutes after it has stopped recording. And your log shows that. So I am puzzled by your initial post where you state that it starts converting WHILE the show is recording. This is not possible [EDIT: since the show is still recording and the file size must be changing]-  your log shows that.

any chance it might be because i played a little bit of the program  when it started recording  then closed it?. mabye I will test a few without trying to play them until they are done.  what about user account contol? I have not turned it off yet.. i will just havent yet.. mabye I hould remove all and start over and see what happpens.. I know it all looks correct but mabye a clean slate will help.

    i'll keep you informed

thanks very much for your help so far

I personally have almost always had some kind of issue when I tried to play a show that was currently recording- and that had not completely finished processing. Depending upon how many workers you have allocated, I found that if I had 2 shows recording one hour- and two more the hour immediately following the first hour (4 shows total) it could take a long time to get the fourth show processed. I have just made a firm rule: I watch no recorded shows until the day after they are recorded. This of course is very different than the VISTA version- but you may find it better than no comskip at all.Good luck...

Hi there, lovely bit of work here but I got stuck installing it. After installing DVRMSToolbox I ran the 'deploy' (elevated) command for the Win7DTBAddin but after that, when I tried to enter DVRMSToolboxSettings it started trying to run an install and then failed stating that there was already an existing service and then rolled back and canceled the installation. I reinstalled the DVRMSToolbox and continued with the instructions and everything seemed to be there except it doesn't appear to be processing the recorded TV (MCE seems to behave exactly as it did before I started). Have I missed something? Any help would be appreciated.

When going into Settings, or any DVRMSToolbox program, RIGHT-click on the program you want to start and choose Troubleshoot Compatability- then choose Try Recommended Settings, then Start the Program.

I have had the same issue. Started to convert a file while it was still recording. Ended up with an 8 minute file. The funny thing is I checked the tv show that was recording to see if it was increasing it size but it didn't for a long time. Does 7MC store the recording in some sort of temp buffer and only update the main file every once in a while? Could explain it....

That's exactly what happened to mine last night. After 15 minutes or so, when I checked in 'recorded TV' in 7MC it showed a normal entry for the show still being recorded and another entry (where it had lost all the information about duration, etc) for the processed recording which still didn't skip ads. Once it had finished, I went to check the processed show to see if it had changed to the full program but it was still at 15mins and the original entry for the show had gone. I really hope someone has a solution for this as this is a great program and I'm sure it works well once it's all set up.

Sorry, I should clarify. When I run any of the DVRMSToolbox programs, it opens a progress window saying "configuring DVRMS Toolbox" and eventually brings up an error stating that a service is already running and then rolls back and says there was a fatal error during installation. What I tried was installing DVRMS Toolbox, configuring it as the instructions state (as it is still works at this point), then installing the MC7 plugin through an elevated command prompt (after which no DVRMSToolbox programs load) and hope that it has kept the settings. The results of that method were that it didn't seem to process any existing shows but any new shows get the problems that the people above were having where it seemed to process part of it but left me with a 15 minute recording (show was 1 hour) with the adds skipping properly (I double checked and it is working). I also noticed that the show seemed to be stripped of all information (date, synopsis, etc). Sorry for the long post but I wanted to provide as much detail as possible as it appears we are in opposite timezones.

I am confused- there are many changes that must be made in the DVRMSToolbox Settings- you state above that you can not get into Settings. Is this true?

It is only once I 'deploy' the 7MC add in that the DVRMSToolbox becomes unusable. If I install DVRMSToolbox first and then make the changes to the settings (or uninstall and reinstall Toolbox) and then install the 7MC add in, I think the settings are still in there, I just can't run the settings program anymore. I should say that when I refer to the 7MC add in, I mean the Win7DTBAddin.

Have you tried running the DVRMSToolbox Settings program, after deploying the AddIn, using the method I described above? You are forcing Settings to run in a XP mode

Haven't tried that yet. I'll give it a go when I get home. Not sure if it is a compatibility issue though as it works fine before the Addin. I'll give it a shot though, I uninstalled it this morning so I can start from the beginning again. I'm just a little worried about the issue with recorded shows being cut to 15 minutes or so.

I use the compatibility mode work around on a regular basis- it does work as described. I also turned OFF the UAC.

I do not have the "short show" issue- and I have no idea what causes it. Some else will have to respond.

Yeah, I reduced the UAC to it's lowest level. A bit off-topic but do you have a way of disabling it entirely?

Re: V3.0 (and Final) of My WTV to DVR-MS profile for MS's WTV Converter.

There is a problem with the Deploy, I have run into the same thing.

in a text editor take out the "%windir$\ehome\RegisterMCEApp.exe /u commercialskipaddin.exe" and save the file..

If you have already unregistered "CommercialSkipAddin.xml" reregister it by doing the following

Open an elevated command prompt and get to the directory that has "Commercialskipaddin.xml" in it by changing the directory (example: C:\Windows\System32>cd \win7dtbaddin)

    Then execute the following command:

    "%windir%\ehome\registermceapp.exe /allusers commercialskipaddin.xml" (without the quotes)

This will reregister the old addin that you need to have the DVRMSTbSettings work right. You have to go into the extras library to disable "Commercial SkipAddin" (not DTBAddin) and you'll be fine.

This crap took me over 4 hours to figure out, I also re-installed my OS two times.

If you have a lot of shows cutting off, there is a problem with the WTV Converter in some of these beta verisons. The best I have found is 7077, however 7057's was pretty good and RC1 will not do a show longer than an hour. So, what version are you using?
