    DVRMSToolbox won't convert single files

I have windows xp media center edition, which is what I believe people mean when they say MCE. I got my computer in 2005 so I guess that's the version or year. I'm using the 1.0.9.5 version of DVRMSToolbox. My problem is that I can't now get it to convert single files. The only way that I can get my home videos (8mm), onto my computer is to put them in the vcr in one of those little cassette converter things and catch it coming out of my vcr with the tv tuner. This works fine and I can get them onto my media center just fine. The problem is that when I open it and try to convert either the file in the recorded tv file or the one I copied to my desktop to mpeg all it will do is blink the cursor down in the box. I've thought it was slow and let it sit for 10 min and it still didn't run. The most I've gotten is for it to run infrequently and give me and error in do work. Sometimes it would put the icon on my desktop, but it wouldn't ever convert and I would cancel it and the icon would stay, but wouldn't play. It isn't doing that anymore. If I hit cancel and then run again it'll immediatly run, but will give me the error in do work immediatly as well. This is the method I used to capture the pic I'm including. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall. I've tried a different version. I've tried to type the ending different ways, such as .mpeg instead of mpg and dvrms instead of dvr-ms. If any one can help me I'd really apprciate it. I've also tried to record a couple of minutes of video to see if there was just something wrong with those videos, but it didn't work either. I would appreciate it if someone could walk me through my problem, because this seems like the only place that anyone can give me any info about it. I would like to get it fixed in a hurry as well, because I put to of the home videos on media center already and they're about two hours long. I have to record in real time, but mce only recognizes the under lying program playing on channel 4 and it's going to expire them tonight at 7:00pm and I'll have to recapture them. Thanks for any help.
