Hi, Using Win7 and of course everything is .wtv now. I found todvrms and it works great. However, I'm a simple user and could not figure out how to add a step into DVRMSToolbox to create a profile that starts with the first thing of converting the .wtv via todvrms to dvr-ms, so that the rest of the cool functions can then be applied.  I can do this one at a time via commandline on todvrms, but wanted to hook it to file watcher and have it automated etc.

 Can anyone share a custom profile or instructions on how to do this?

Their is a function called run external I believe that you can add to a profile which will do this. I have it setup to convert .wtv from particular channels to dvrms and delete the .wtv files.

The man was asking for instructions, which I as well would be very grateful for. It would be cool if a profile were to be added into the Toolbox to simplify this.

Got everything placed correctly, but "Error In Serialize". Probably something simple that I don't have set correctly. Make sure you have ToDVRMS folder with ToDVRMS.exe in the applications folder in dvrmstoolbox. the profile assumes that everything is installed in C:\. Make sure you have the latest dvrmstoolbox.

 Total newbie situation here ... what do I do with this.  I have tried to integrate todvrms and have moved the folder into the apps part of toolbox.  Any ideas?

Seems you are running the gui, put the word"test" or any other word where it says output file and run, the profile should over write with correct show name.

once you have it working use the "processingconditioneditor" to automate the process.

Does this only work in win7? or will it work with vista/tvpack? I made the mistake of putting in the tvpack before checking if it would break my commercial removal:( thanks!

I have tested this method works with tvpack, but it cuts the show, not the neat feature that just allows you to skip.  As mentioned that will never work with tvpack.

I assume you could do the same thing in Win7 (haven't tried yet) but once DVRMSToolbox is updated it seems the much loved commercial skip feature will be back!  Do note for now it will still require converting WTV to DVRMS.  I have not seen any support from SA or comskip yet for processing WTV files.

 

 

I have never used the commercial skip feature myself, i just watched stuff that was already cut..now that i have setup win7 think i will work on getting it to cut again:)

Thanks for all the nfo here guys:) Got todvrms working perfect, have DTB almost working... problem is, i installed win7 x64 and it seems showanalyzer wont work correctly:( and comskip is... well.. comskip:) I read some posts from a year ago that talked bout running SA using runexternal.. but no real details on how to cut out commercials using it like that.. or how to set that up.. any other solutions?

ok.. got it mostly working, but have a odd problem. When i record a show, if i watch the filesize of the recorded file doesn't move for like 10 minutes at a time, like if i hit record on a 30 minute show.. the filesize is instantly 500meg.. then bout 10 minutes in it jumps to 900meg, but the recording is going fine and is watchable in MCE.. then after the recording is done the file size will drop to like 250meg or whatever the real size is of the file, its like the OS is guessing the filesize before its done.. which is no big thing, cept its making filewatcher nuts.. i like filewatcher to do its thing bout 2 minutes after the file is done writing, but it thinks the file is done right away since the size doesn't move.. any ideas?

the sbe allocates files in 100mb chunks, i don't know how sbev2 works but it's probably similar.

Yeah, mine actually was doing 500meg chunks.. weird stuff.. i have gived up for now.. will wait til things are sunnier for wtv:)
