    USB to Lpt for VFD/LCDwriter

Andy, I am looking at geting a cable card setup for my media center, chances are looking at the HP due to having a ATB board that I can transplant into my D-vine case with VFD. The problem is the new board has no LPT port on it, and very limited slots for cards. The question I have is, do you know any USB to LPT that will work out of the box with LCDwriter ? I'd prefer to buy one that you suggest to save the battling with with it trying to get it to work/having to return it. because it does not work. Thanks !! -Dave

I don't know if it will work.  It writes directly to a memory address, it might work if you can configure the device to a particular memory address.

Do you know of anyone that is using one ? Or another option ? I love having my VFD working but, don't want it not to work because I went to a Cable card setup. I figure USB would be the best option for me do to the lack of PCI slots (only 1 and I need it for something else). Yea, I'm just wishing for DIY cable cards so I can get a real system board but, not going to happen.

the only solution that I'm aware of is a pci card.
