Should it work with 64bit?  It installs, but I don't get the notifications in MC.  The service is working because the pop-ups are working in Vista when I am not in MC.

it should be possible to make it work, but it would require some tweaking. 

 Can you help me out and point me in the right direction to get it working?  I am a developer if that helps.....

i'll be releasing the source in the next day or so.

• make sure the assembly ended up where MC can find it, in the gac or ehome
• unregister/register the addin with RegisterMCEApp.exe

 if the dll is in the right place, and registered in the right hive it should work.

 Last question (hopefully):

 So it is not about the code itself, or compilation, it is simply about the installer / where it gets installed and registered?

Also, YacAddin.xml is missing from the source code.

Did you ever get this workings? I'm looking for a 64-bit friendly version as well...

No luck.  I spent a couple hours tinkering with the code, entry points, etc, but never could get it working.  It is strange that some 32bit add-ins work fine in 64 bit, and some don't.  I would have to spend much more time understanding add-in dev, and the differences between 32 and 64....time I don't have right now!  If you figure it out, post here and let us know!

I'm thinking I may just install 32-bit. I've been on x64 for about a year, and recently had to reinstall my OS. I'm getting random issues with very little on it right now (unexpected reboots, etc), so I may try 32 and see if the gain of compatibility is worth the loss of RAM (I have 4 GB installed).

Andy, if boredom every take you down a 64-bit comptible YAC listener, we'd welcome the opportunity to test it :)

I took the plunge and went with the 32-bit install. The YAC add-ins installed and perfomed flawlessly, even on the extender. I liked the idea of more memory access and better performance under x64, but if all installs go this way, I'm not looking back.

Unless your application (or the sum of) really needs > 3.5[ish]GB of RAM, the performance delta b/w x86 & x64 is a wash.
