    Setup.msi problem when installing DVRMSToolbox

I installed the version asked for of microsoft .net framework, and went to install dvrmstoolbox1213 it installed sucessfully  it said , but later when i tried to run it it kept asking where setup.msi was.  I looked and searched for it, but all I could find was setup.exe, I figured it was the same so I just tried to change the name to setup.msi, but that didn't work.  Can anyone help me, I Really like this program, was just trying to update it , but I don't know what to do now.  thank you for your response and hopefully solution to this problem.

PS  If anyone has had problems with DVRedit and figured them out, I need some help there too, It says failed to open source file, failed opening graph and stuff like that

the msi is in the zip file.  the dvredit problem sounds like somethings messed with your box, do you have any codec packs installed?

andy, thank you so much for your response to my question.  After I posted it I tried removing everthing I had by deleting all of the versions i had of dvrms toolbox and then running your installation program again and after I did that everything was allright and it works great.  and I like the interface change to make it somewhat simpler on the UI program.  as pertaining my other problem, I have no idea what codecs i have installed or not installed , I have Nero 7 ulta edition and I purchased the DVD video plug in for that,

Andy  some shows don't do good with your program, like older movies where the commercial has a bettter bitrate or equal to the show itself.  and I sometines want to keep and separate just a music video, which in the past I had used DVR-edit and it worked great.  If you wouldn't mind walking me through it, I would sure appreciate it.  I do have dial up 26.4 KBPS connection so I can't easily download big files because my average download speed is 1 to 2  sometimes 4 kbps  Thanks for your great program I sure do appreciate it.

I don't use DVREdit anymore, Steve Toub wrote a C# editor that is more user friendly so I use that.  He's got an article explaining how to use it and the binary on his blog.

If commercial detection isn't working correctly (I'm a little unclear on what problem your describing, so if this isn't the issue forgive me) then you will need to tune the analyzer.

    Hi

    New here

I also have an install problem

    XP SP3, ShowAnalyzer 0.9.7 (registered),  DTb1213, confirmed rollup2, both dotnet 1.1 and 2.0

I followed the trouble shooting page, but I don't have any DLLs listed in C:\Windows\Assembly\  I cannot find a file named CommercialSkipAddin.dll anywhere on my system. I have also confirmed that MCE shows a CommercialSkipAddin is installed.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both SA and DBt.

My xml files are being created, but not with "Find Commercials in DVRMS File" I had to remove the "get Video Info" step because there was a error with a null value.

none of the commercial skip funtions work when replaying. I have been able to remove commercials when saving as mpg or dvrms, but I don't want that. I just want SA to autoskip.

    Thanks

1.2.1.3 is not intended to be used on XP MCE.  That said the only thing that won't work is the addin.  Let me think about making an addin only install package for MCE users.

Re: Setup.msi problem when installing DVRMSToolbox

Sorry I didn't realize that 1.2.1.3 was Vista. Before I try your addin, would I be better to uninstall 1.2.1.3 and then install 1.1.0.8?

What is the new file you created? Do I just install the new file on top of 1.2.1.3 or uninstall or just what?

    Thanks for you quick reply.

Re: Setup.msi problem when installing DVRMSToolbox

Well, I did 'downgrade' to 1.1.0.8 and after a slight problem with registering the CommerskipAddin.xml (solution found on this board) things are working now, well initialy anyways.

I still would like to know what the other file you created does.

    Thanks

The zip contains the XP version the the commercial skip addin,  It should work fine with the Vista client utilities assuming I didn't miss anything.  There won't be any more updates to the XP rev of DTB, so this would be a path to increasing the functionality that the tools outside of MC provide.  If you decide to try it again, let me know and we can get it working if I missed anything.
