Cutting commercials out of a Sage recording

I'd like to strip the commercials from the SageTV recordings and then convert the "CutMPEG" file using Handbrake.  The CutDVRMSfile action doesn't work - any suggestions?

Handbrake can mark chapters, so I guess I can convert the EDL to a CSV with the chapters, which is good enough for me.  Am I missing something, though?

    Thanks!

you can use mencoder with an edl file directly, or you can use a version of mencoder (this version doesn't support dvr-ms though) that will use an edl file to cut the spans w/o processing the mpeg streams.

this is an area that is deficient though, and I do plan to address it.  My first priority in this area is TS cutting because options exist for MPG.

I never had luck using mencoder to convert to iPod format (h.264/aac or mpeg-4/aac), and ffmpeg doesn't do EDL.

For some reason the link isn't working.  This version of mencoder - ftp://ftp4.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/win32/MPlayer-mingw32-1.0rc2.zip can create an mpeg using the edl to remove sections.

You can use runexternal or [maybe] replace the version of mencoder that comes with dtb with it and use the builtin mencoder action to create an mpeg that you can run handbrake on.
