I have been using DVRMSToolbox successfully and happily for a couple years. Recently for some reason Media Center is not responding to skip commercials, either from key input or automatically, as it had done before. This is occurring while running MCE from both the PC and also my Xbox360 media extender. I am at wits end trying to resolve this. I had been successfully running DVRMSToolbox v1103 without issue until this.
Troubleshooting Steps taken (same as suggested per Wiki):
Current installed software versions:
- MCE 2005 Rollup 2
- DVRMSToolbox: 1108
- ShowAnalyzer (Registered): 0.9.7
-Registered Commercial Skip Add-In: have done this mutlple times
-Verified Rollup 2 for MCE 2005 is installed
-Verified XML files are being created: .xml files are successfully being created in folder (Recorded TV Drive letter):\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox\CommercialsXml
-Verified Add-In is installed correctly: all .dlls are properly found in c:\windows\assembly\ directory
-Verified Add-In is registered and starting up properly: CommercialSkip addin is writing events that notifies that it was successfully initialized when launching MCE
Additionally, I have taken these steps:
- Uninstalled and reinstalled DVRMSToolbox v1103 (that was original version I had installed that was working prior to this issue)
- Upgraded DVRMSToolbox to v1108
- Upgraded ShowAnalyzer (Registered) to v0.9.7
- Verfied .log files are being created in (Recorded TV Drive letter):\Program Files\DVRMSToolbox\FWLogs
Still, Media Center is not responding to both keyboard inputs or automatic commercial skipping as I have set in the configuration.
One item of note: I noticed that the Recorded TV folder used to have in addition to the recorded show .dvr-ms files, .log, .txt, and .edl files. Now when a show is recorded, only .dvr-ms and .log files are in that directory (missing are the .txt, and .edl files, I have no idea what was creating those or if this is related to my issues)
Any assistance to help further troubleshoot and resolve this would be greatly appreciated!
