Hi,

My name's Gregory... and sorry I only log-in rarely (for new downloads/updates) for DVRMSToolbox.

I just wanted whoever reads this message to know that Vista (O.S.) works alot better (more secure and user-friendly) for me than Windows XP/MCE ever did!

So here's the deal: I am having troubles with DVRMSToolbox for Vista being able to detect and delete the commercials in the process, and recieve a commercial-free DVR-MS file - ever since I updated to Toolbox 1.2.1.2. Right now, it gives me percentages of splices (which I think means the scanning portion), but at the end, the output file remains partially deleted or no commercials deleted at all.

I use Showanalyzer as a paid subscriber for a little over a year, so that works fine in the scanning of the application itself (SA 0.9.6), but I do not see results when using SA as a processing choice for Toolbox. Also ComSkip does not give me percentage status like it used to, and takes much longer.

So if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please reply - hopefully with some form of assurance that this will be fixed in the next Toolbox release. It's actually both analyzers that do not perform with full capabilities.

Also, please note that on www.dragonglobal.org, there is a download called commercial skip proxy which I am using today and replaced the old comskip.exe file in the program files/applications. And before I did so today, the scanning choice default was set on SA in DVRMSToolbox, but would always scan with comskip.

Please reply to me here and I will check this site again soon. Btw, I have old recordings from before 1.2.1.2 was installed and they worked fine... and my recordings from last month worked, but that was the last of my XP system. One more note is: I require CC (closed captions) in my programs, so unless there is a way to extract them, I must continue using the DVR-MS format.

Thanks for replying. I think I've identified the problem and want your help on how to fix it.

I just tried the profile of delete/cut commercials and output DVR-MS in toolbox, for one of my latest recordings, and what it does after taking time to tell me about the frames and detect commercials: it tells me no commercials found.

That's probably why I don't have any deleted commerical files. Now I'm wondering is there something in this version wrong. I've used 1.2.1.1 before and everything was fine if I remember, but when I updated this version - it stopped working fine.

As of today, I updated comskip applications to .79-137 through the main website, copied the files into Program Files and ...Toolbox Folder, including an updated MEncoder and ComSkip files.

What I'm wondering is how long till the new release or should I go back a version of Toolbox. I'm liking this comskip details thing, but these are the problems with the current version.

I have Vista, and I'm wondering the Public Release of Toolbox 1.2.1.3. Also, it does not appear SA has any newer releases that might fix this issue.

I guess my main two problems are deleting the commercials, and making sure the ouput file has the same DVR-MS format with CC availability. If you know anything about my questions, please give me a post reply.

P.S. I don't know how or what log files do nor what they are.

if you overwrote the comskip.ini file that I ship, you need to modify it.
