Question for babgvant: "Create Failure" when burning re-spliced dvrms files in MCE 2005

It appears that the re-spliced dvrms files no longer can be burned to a dvd after version 1.1.0.7 removes the commercials. Is there a fix for this problem? I now have about 100 cutdvrmsfiles that can not be burned to a DVD. I get the old "CREATE FAILURE" error that I used to get when I first started using MCE 2005. Since the Rollup and the Update I haven't had any problems until now. The purpose of the burn is for viewing RecordedTV from a standard DVD player.

    Would appreciate input...

    Thanks

that happens with some files.  easiest thing is to convert them to mpeg, then burn that.

Thanks for your input. So far it happens to "all" "tooled" files. I tried converting one to mpeg, but MCE did not recognize it in the RecordedTV folder. Also files that used to be grouped together in MCE (series programs) are no longer grouped after processing. Is there a way to re-group? Probablly the best way to handle commercials in MCE would be to not cut them out at all, but just skip them (jump to the end of the commercial using the xml file). I've tried to do this with comskip with no success. With ShowAnlayser no problem with the .edl.)

Can Comskip with DVRToolbox 1.1.0.7 jump (or skip over) commercials during playback without altering the dvrms file? I've tried the "Find Commercials" profile, I've checked that the ComskipAddin is functioning properly with the event viewer. I've checked that a xml file has been written and resides in the "commercial path". Does MCE require a certain path to look for the xml file or is the "commercial path" where it looks?

Bottom line, I can go either way. Either not alter the file and jump over commercials and burn the un-altered file or cut out the commercials and burn a processed file, the latter being the preference, of course. So far neither way works.

    Thanks

you'll want to put the mpegs in the videos section, they can be burned from there.

the cs addin can skip commercials as you watch the file w/o cutting the original file.  if you installed it that should be the OOTB behavior.

What is "OOTB behavior" ? If this means default settings, the only changes I've made to the installation were path changes to a dedicated drive for RecordedTV. Operating system=C:\, FW=F:\Recorded TV Output=F:\DTBoutput CommercialPath=F:\CommercialsXml Temp=F:\DTBtemp JobPath=F:\FWJobs. What about the re-grouping issue? Is there away to regroup series programs that no longer are grouped after processing?

By the way, I converted a processed dvrms file to mpeg, put it into My Videos and tried to burn it from MCE, same thing, "Create Failure". If I don't delete the original dvrms it burns just fine from MCE. It does seem as though something in the resplicing phase is causing burning to fail.

    I appreciate your input.

     Thanks
