    Commerical Detection not Responding Error

I have just learned of DVRMSToolbox and installed "DVRMSToolbox For Vista - 1.2.0.8 (x64)" on my Vista Ultimate 64 system that has all of the current updates applied.  When I start Media Center I get the message that the Commerical Detection Software has stopped responding and you are being returned to Media Center.

Also when I run ShowAnalyzer from the start menu it aborts as soon as is is given a dvr-ms file to process.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Using the DVRtoMPEGSettings tool, check to see where the addin is looking for the CommercialsXml directory. If there's no such directory on your system, create one (usually you also have to create a temp directory as well with this bug).

Re: Commerical Detection not Responding Error

The first two entries below always occur in pairs.  The last two entries, that show a recording finished, appear to be normal but No commericals were removed from either show.

I have to paste the text here since I got a message that I was not allowed to upload a link or file to the forum.

    Thanks.

the msas sink isn't getting loaded.  you can try manually registering the sink, or wait for 1.2.0.9.  Hopefully I've addressed this issue by making the sink self registering instead of letting the installer do it.

Re: Commerical Detection not Responding Error

Thanks you for looking into my problem and your response.

Do you have any estimate on when1.2.0.9 for Vista (64) will be available?

Same problem with commercial skip add in not responding after uninstalling 1.2.0.8 and installing 1.2.0.9 on Vista Ultimate x64 machine.  Apparantly the issue still is not fixed.  Any ideas on how to get this working?

    terminate ehmsas.exe using taskmgr

open an escalated cmd prompt and run %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\installutil "c:\Program Files (x86)\dvrmstoolbox\mcestate.dll"

    start WMC, what happens?

I don't know why getting the sink registered is so problematic in x64, it seems to work inconsistently.
