    Multiple instances of dvrmstoolbox showing up in task manager

    I just uninstalled dvrmxtoolbox yesterday because I kept having a problem with multiple instances of dvrms processes.  Every couple days I would go down to check out my media pc, and I'd bring up task manager and the window would be full of dvrms processes.  I really want to get the commercial skipping to work well, but I haven't had enough time to play with it to get showanalyzer working well.



    I had installed the latest version of dvrmstoolbox from this site a week or so ago, so I wasn't using an old version or anything.  I'll try to get more details about it, but I don't remember seeing anything in the event log regarding it.

     

    My PC specs are:

    MCE 2005

    athlon 64 3500+

    2GB DDR400

    74gb raptor, 250gb for media

    evga 6800gt

    you mean dvrmstompeg.exe?  it's normal to have multiple instances, if it's configured to do that... the log files created when processing is the best place to start looking if something awry.

    Yeah, that's the process.  Are you sure it's normal to have like 20 instances open at once, not seeming to be doing anything?  I'll check out the log files if you could tell me where they are located.

    20 is not normal, although there isn't anything to stop you from configuring it to do that... what is value of "workers" set to?

    logfiles are in %public%\dvrmstoolbox\fwlogs
