 My problem is with conversion.

Tried converting to wma, it completes the task perfectly but when I play the file there is no video.

Tried converting to mpeg, it starts but fails with the log entries below. Using 1.2.0.8

wma shouldn't have video, do you mean wmv?

if you can't get the dshow conversion to work, try with ffmpeg

I have tried ffmpeg and got the video converted, but no audio.

All of this on Vista Home premium, HP Laptop

Ok tried to register MPGmux and had some intial problems but finally got it registered using run as administrator, which was odd since I am administrator. I still get the error in Do work error and still no sound using ffmpeg.

If you aren't getting sound performing the ffmpeg MUX, then I'd like to fix it.  Can you start by posting the ffmpeg output?  You should be able to see the ffmpeg output in the Dtb log.  If not, below is the command line to manually run the ffmpeg_MPGMUX executable.

"ffmpeg_MPGMUX.exe" -y -i "input filename.dvr-ms" -vcodec copy -acodec copy -f dvd "output filename.mpg"

 Once I see the log I may be able to figure out why the sound isn't being copied into the MPG file.

Wow, this surprised me...  According to this log, ffmpeg is copying the audio track to the mpg file.  So, either it is giving us incorrect information, or the problem is a playback issue on your machine.  Can you download gspot from the link below and have it analyze the mpg file.

It should tell you what type of audio track it sees and whether your machine has the codec to playback the audio.  Once you've run gspot let me know what it says (if you can post a picture of the gspot screen that would be great because it will tell me other information that might be useful).

I copied the file to another Vista Machine and there is audio with it after all.

Thanks for the help. Now I need to igure out what is wrong with my HP laptop.
